Silk Care Instructions

FOR SILK PILLOWCASE/ SILK BABY COT SLEEVE/ SILK BABY MITTENS

HAND WASHING

  • We recommend handwashing your silk products for the best result. Handwashing with pH neutral liquid detergent (or silk specific, mild detergent) will help to maximise their life span, keep their shine, softness and luxury feel.
(*** tip: we ourselves love washing our silk products with baby hair shampoo. Silk is a protein fiber, similar to hair, so shampoo can be used as a substitute for detergent)
  • Wash with cold water and small amount of mild detergent. Turn the silk item inside out, gently swirl in  for a few minutes.
DO NOT soak too long. DO NOT bleach.DO NOT scrub or rub too hard.
Only gently rub areas with stains
Rinse thoroughly. Swirl in cold water to remove any soap residue.
Press out any excess water. Avoid wringing or twisting your silk items.
  • (Highly recommended for sleep mask)

MACHINE WASHING

  • They can be also machine washable. But please keep in mind they are made from natural fibre, not synthetic, that requires love and care
    - Turn the silk item inside out
    - Washing together with other delicate fabrics
    - Delicate setting/ short cycle
    - Cold wash only
    - pH neutral/ mild detergent
    - Use wash bags (mesh bags) for delicate items

DRYING

  • Natural air dry in the shade is the best. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat or use hanging basket recommended. Try not to hang them to dry, as this can cause stretching or distortion
  • Iron on low heat setting (on the reverse side/ inside fabric)

FOR SILK SLEEP MASK/ SILK SCRUNCHIES

  • We highly recommend handwashing only for these items for the best result (refer to the above handwashing section). Prolonged soaking in water can damage silk fibre padding inside the sleep mask.
